Nancy Risner is the Coordinator of Accessibility Services (OAS) at WVU Tech. She joined the Tech team in March of 2019. Along with providing accommodation assistance, she also advises students academically in the Student Success Center.
Importantly, Nancy brings a wealth of experience to her position. She has worked with several social service agencies across the region. Her positions have included: case manager, foster care coordinator, and service coordinator. She has also assisted with the delivery of services and management of care in group homes serving the IDD population. Her time at the West Virginia Aged and Disabled Waiver Program was spent helping participants in their quest to meet various accessibility, housing, and medical needs.
Nancy holds an MSW (Master of Social Work) from Walden University and a Bachelor of Social Work from Mountain State University. She has been licensed in the state of West Virginia since 2011. She recently passed the Licensed Generalist Social Work exam in June 2020.
Nancy Moved to West Virginia at age five from New Mexico. She enjoys spending time with her three children and her 3 grandchildren. In her free time, Nancy enjoys the arts, reading, and shopping.
